The church has a rich history, starting in 1988 with 33 members meeting in a renovated truck repair garage, thanks to the early support of Kirby Baptist Church and the San Antonio Baptist Association. Over the years, Redeeming Grace has experienced significant growth, leading to the addition of multiple Sunday services in 2001 and the conversion of a gymnasium into a Worship Center in 2010.
To accommodate their continued growth, the church recently purchased 10 acres of land nearby and engaged Powers Goolsby Architects to develop a master plan for the future. The initial phase of this plan features a new 450-seat sanctuary designed with future expansion up to 700 seats in mind. The design also includes a welcoming lobby, fellowship hall, café, administrative offices, and dedicated classrooms for children’s and youth ministries on both the first and second floors.
Future phases of the master plan envision additional educational spaces and a larger 1,400-seat sanctuary, all connected by a central atrium lobby. Once the new construction is complete, the current worship space will be repurposed as a community hall. This new design will provide Redeeming Grace Christian Church with significant opportunities for continued growth and ministry.
